Lewis and Barbara Galoob founded Lewis Galoob Toys in 1957. The company_s first toy success was the reintroduction of a battery-powered Jolly Chimp that banged cymbals and nodded his head when activated. When their sons took over the company in the 1970, the boys aggressively pursued new product development. Micro Machines proved their best seller for much of the mid-1980 and 1990, however, the company sold many other miniatures. Many of the toys Galoob rolled out in the 1980 and 1990 continued the small-size theme. Galoob started thinking small because consumers complained about high-priced, high-tech toys. Miniature rides, arcades, tools, and housekeeping supplies helped the company stage a strong comeback from a 1987 industry wide slump.
