The medal, dedicated to Filippo Buonarroti, was carried out by the medal maker Antonio Montauti in 1731. On the verso, is portrayed the profile of Filippo Buonarroti and around him appears the Latin motto “QUEM NULL(a) AEQUAVERIT AETAS”. On the recto, at the center of a laurel wreath, reading the inscription “PHILIPPO BONARROTIO PATRICIO ET SENAT(ori) FLORENT(ino) FRANC(iscus) EQ(ues) VICTORIUS ANNO MDCCXXXI ROMAE D(edit) L(ibens) D(ono)” that proof that the work was commissioned by Francesco Vettori, member, like Filippo, of the Etruscan Academy of Cortona.
