Medal "The Centenary of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels" Obverse

Medal issued to commemorate the centenary of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in 1932. It is designed by the famous artist Marcel Rau (1886–1966). In early 20th century he brought Art Deko's breeze into Belgian decorative art.
The obverse shows three revealing sensual women which represents Muses of the Arts: Drama, Dance and Music.
The reverse depicts profiles and names of the directors of the Royal Conservatory over the 100-year centenary period – FETIS: GEVAERT: TINEL: DU BOIS: JONGEN. They are François-Joseph Fétis (1784–1871), François-Auguste Gevaert (1871–1908), Edgar Tinel (1877–1912), Léon Du Bois (1859–1935) and Joseph Jongen (1873–1953).
The legend along the outer edge reads: CENTENAIRE DU CONSERVATOIRE ROYAL DE MUSIQUE DE BRUXELLES / 1832 / 1932 (The Centenary of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels / 1832 / 1932).
