Medieval Church Door

Detail of a church door from Björksta, Västmanland, Sweden. The iron ornamentation on the door represents Paradise in the form of rosettes, lillies, leaves and lions. On the left the tree of Life with birds at the top. On one of the iron fittings there is an inscription which reads: God bless you, master Röding and Bo Fris. The names probably represent the craftsmen who made the door.
