Memorial cloth for the 1848/49 National Assembly. The silk cloth shows the portraits of 49 representatives of the Frankfurt Parliament. Above the portraits is the lettering "The Men of the People. Dedicated to the people—a reminder for posterity." The silk cloth probably comes from an Alsatian fabric factory. The original was a lithograph by Carl Koch.
