Introduction to the memorial presentation at the tercentenary of Dublin University June 1892 compiled by the Association of Irish Schoolmistresses and signed by 10,560 Irish Women of the educated classes. The memorial tried to win the support of those who did not have an interest in university for themselves and also highlighted the cultural benefit of university education beyond pursuing a career in teaching.
