Two men's earrings from the Hupa culture. Collected from below Martin's Ferry in Humboldt County/Hoopa Valley, California. Each earring is made from an abalone shell disc from which hang three dentalium shells and a narrow strip of abalone, which passes through the ear lobe to hold the earring in place.
