c.1920

Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena

Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena
Guatemala, Guatemala

This elegant piece of European origin was reserved for use of the confraternity members as as symbol of their authority and prestige. on each leg, it presents a row of floral patterns, with a bird at its end. All these elements, created with simplicity, stand out from the background of black wool fabric. This is an iconic heritage piece of great historical value as its manufacture has disappeared completely from the municipality's textile tradition.
