A molded and cold painted porcelain figural scene of Menaka and her daughter, Shakuntala, inspired by the popular depiction of the same theme by Ravi Varma Press dated 1891.
According to one version of the story from the Mahabharata, Menaka took Shakuntala back to Heaven when King Dushyanta refused to accept her as his wife. Shakuntala stayed on there until she gave birth to her son, Bharata.
