SC magnet's beam measurement

The main field of 5 m diameter is measured to an accuracy of 2 x 10⁻⁴ by 100 Hall plates mounted on a bar 3.50 m long (photo) which is rotated in the magnet gap by a computer controlled step motor to an angular precision of about 1/10 degree.
