This light bulb, of the Wotan type, contains a tungsten wire filament. The introduction of drawn tungsten wire made it possible to use a more spherical glass bulb compared with previous lamps, which were more oblong. These spherical lamps made new lighting fixture designs possible. A well-known example is the table lamp designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld.
