Yiannis Stylianou (1941-1996)
Graduate of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki Law School, he run the home shoe-making enterprise “Alysida”. A self-taught Thessaloniki photographer, Stylianou was active between 1965-1969, following the European and American photographic scene of his time. His characteristic interest for square format studies of form and matter gave gradually way to an investigation of the vernacular and the everyday life with the flexible small format, in the humanistic spirit of street photography. The Stylianou archive belongs to the collection of MOMus – Thessaloniki Museum of Photography.
