Cylindrical receptacle that is placed on the main doorpost to protect the family's home. It is a symbol of God's presence in the house. Sometimes it is also placed on the bedroom door. In this case the owners maintained that it was made by silversmiths from the communities living in the Caucasian region (Russia), in 1880. It has a small door at the front with Hebrew letters inside a six-pointed star. At the back, there are two small silver devices to fix it to the wall. It has certain passages from the Scripture.
