The bottom of the microscope is made of black iron. The arm that attaches to the drum is concave and develops into a pedestal below. The join between them has a joint system allowing the microscope to tilt. The square black stage has a central hole and 2 clips for holding slides in place. Below is a plane mirror. The base is black and horseshoe-shaped with cuboid limbs and a small heel.
