The wall paintings, dating from the 17th to the 18th centuries, have deteriorated from lack of environmental controls and were threatened by antiquated electrical wiring and outdated fire protection. The project involved the documentation and conservation of the frescoes and the installation of new electrical and fire prevention systems in the wooden landmark church.
