Mid-Autumn Celebration (Kumiodori)

One of the seven Sappo Shichien banquets held to welcome and entertain the Chinese investiture envoys during the period of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The Mid-Autumn Celebration was held under the Harvest Moon, on August 15 of the lunar calendar. There will be performances of classical dance and Kumiodori plays by Living National Treasures. An unparalleled stage performance of traditional Ryukyuan performing arts with the Seiden in the background under the moonlight.
