The Bavarian artist who calls himself "Mr. Woodland" created his mural here in Sandwirthgasse, which he titled "Midnight Walk." With him, his name is program. He mainly works with spray cans, as he did with this work. The bearded man with a hood looks into the red twilight as he moves out of a forest and stands in a clearing. In his pocket, the secret tools for the perfect walk can be seen. For example, locked doors can be unlocked with the pliers brought along.
Sometimes his artworks contain a subtle self-portrait, and when he does not paint human figures, his protagonists are mostly illustrative characters, such as a red panda that he places in a magically enchanting forest landscape. One characteristic is that he gives his animal figures human features, or he uses certain elements, such as the fly agaric. His accents in the form of small "x", small circles and short lines are also typical.
It is also interesting that during the creation process of the picture, Mr. Woodland was initially very dissatisfied with a detail of the picture. Although the face was already finished and flawless, he quickly painted over it and within less than an hour a new face was already visible. This demonstrates well how the freehand working process can proceed, in contrast to the process where grids and stencils are used.
