Standing in front of the band is Norris Octavius (Paddy) Vidgen (1909-1998), then the 5-year-old mascot of 15th Infantry Battalion. The Vidgen property was located near the Enoggera training camp, and Paddy was the youngest of eight children. Paddy's older brother Jack served with 15th Battalion, and was killed at Gallipoli in August 1915.
