In the Military Photo Archive, photographs owned by state institutions, individuals and press companies from 1950 to the present are exhibited in various ways. A total of 75 photos are installed on the central wall, depicting Korean and U.S. soldiers stationed at the DMZ from 1950, the time of the Korean War, until the 1970s. The photo resources are documents created by the Korean and US armies, from their respective points of view, of the most tense period in the DMZ after the Korean War, along with photos taken by photographer Hanyong KIM in the 1960s for military publicity purposes. The resources also include private photos taken by Korean and American soldiers who were in service at the time, along with records of government institutions and press photos. They document the daily lives of soldiers at that time, military facilities and unfamiliar views of the DMZ from multilateral perspectives. In addition to the installation of photos, more resources are exhibited in the form of an archive book.
