Milk Container

A gourd wooden shaped milk container with basketry top of the neck and a conical wooden stopper which also acts as a cup. Similar in shape to Samburu ones. Made by married women from the wood of the (Lema Lasin tree), which they cut out a hollow by burning. Lashed with cowhide strips. Used by married women only for holding milk and also milking cows.
