Milk gourd

The gourd is made by women for use by any family member to store smoked milk. The gourd is produced by the Maasai and sold to the Kipsigis. Beads are sewn onto cowhide which acts as a cap and a handle using strings made from sisal or strips of animal skin/muscles.
