Portrait of President Millard Fillmore (1800-1874), 13th President of the United States. President Fillmore is portrayed from the chest upwards, shoulders turned slightly to his left, with his head turned to look directly at the viewer. President Fillmore has silver hair and is posed against a brown background. The composition and sitter’s appearance relate this portrait to a daguerreotype of President Fillmore made by the Boston partners Albert Sands Southworth and Josiah Johnson Hawes around 1850.
