The Death Valley region has experienced over 150 years of mining booms and busts. For those who mined the dark tunnels, ledges, crevices, and adits [horizonatal mine entrance] in order to extract gold, silver, copper and other mining ores, lighting was required in order to illuminate their work. These lamps and candle holder are just a few examples of the lamps used by Death Valley miners.
