This miniature collection, created by Jose Brasil, a native of São Jorge Island, depicts the everyday activities of an Azorean village. If you look closely, you will see pigs being fed, different types of plows used in the fields, grape pressing, fishing, and wood cutting. Women are seen spinning wool into yarn that will be woven on a loom, baking bread, and playing cards. Corncobs are hung on a framework, and outhouses are used instead of indoor plumbing. The major occupation of milking cows is displayed through oxen-pulled carts taking filled milk cans to the cheese maker. On display in the Portuguese Historical Museum at the Imperio, History Park.
