Portrait of the Queen Ulrika Eleonora in a blue low cut dress with a white lace edging and on her head a high coiffure. The background is granular in reddish brown. The painting is made on a slightly curved copper surface, has no frame, but a lose plate belongs to it as a cover. On it is engraved the initials VE for Ulrika Eleonora and the year 1690. It is not signed, but the style is typical of Erik Utterhielm.

The artist belonged to the group of artists that the Dowager Queen Hedvig Eleonora favoured. She commissioned a considerable amount of portraits of her son Charles XI and daughter in law and other relatives from him and she also recommended him as teacher. She even appointed him as a courtier. His style is recognized as elegant and bright in colours.
