The half length portrait shows Queen Ulrika Eleonora with big dark eyes and in a high coiffure, one lock of hair hanging over her left shoulder. She is dressed in a blue ermine trimmed cloak dotted with golden princely crowns kept together over her breast with a black brooch. Under the cloak a low cut dress in yellow brocade is seen edged with white silk. Around her neck a necklace of white pearls and in her ears are tear-shaped pearls hanging. The painting has a rather thin laciniated silver frame and is covered by a glass with a broad bevelled edge. As no royal crowns are seen in the picture the miniature might be painted while she still, as a young princess, was waiting in Denmark for the marriage in 1680 with the Swedish king Karl XI.
