As the club that is used the most in any given round of golf, the putter as more unusual design variants than any other. And this one is an excellent example.

With a very small convex face, the weight centred behind the sweet spot, and a streamlined look, this club would surely have drawn stares in its hey-day. The fact that something similar isn't used today suggests that the design was not a success.
