Zhan Wang is one of China's most important contemporary sculptors, who in 1995 first caught international acclaim with his works in stainless steel. "Looking Glass Garden" series creates a mysterious world with a menagerie of phantoms, channeling the artists many years of practice with the material. The artist takes the utopian, or rather dystopian, metaphor to critique the rapidly changing reality for Chinese citizens.
