This bronze mirror was made in Etruria, the region between the rivers Arno and Tiber. Mirror and handle form an integrated whole. The reflecting surface curved slightly, creating a magnifying effect. The backs of such mirrors are engraved with mythological scenes that often feature Aphrodite.
