Three children peer through the window of Miss Emma Clark's shop on Beaconsfield High Street, eyeing the fancy goods on display. The proprietress and her elderly mother stand in the shop doorway. The door to the house, the door to the shop and the shop window sit beneath a single timber cornice that extends along the length of the building front. High Street is now known as London End. The building dates from the late 17th century and is listed Grade II.
