The Centenary Project

Dying of Adire is usually done in large earthenware dye pots. The dye used is made either from indigo leaves which grows locally or imported indigo grains. If leaves are used they would be collected into balls and allowed to ferment. The indigo is added to water that is softened with caustic soda.
