The kinetic-acoustic sculpture by Katarzyna Krakowiak is comprised of a wooden floor, on which a system of four wooden strips was distributed. Each strip is composed of wooden squares connected to each other with material-based hinges, thus creating a mobile system that resembles a jigsaw. The wooden elements can be closed, folded or configured in many other ways. In its initial form, the project functioned as a site-specific interactive installation, carried out as part of the exhibition dedicated to Jerzy Ludwiński, titled Filling the Blanks, which took place at the Centre of Contemporary Art in Toruń (from 25 March to 20 May, 2011). The nature of the project was under the (direct) influence of the exhibition space at the Centre of Contemporary Art itself, as well as under the influence of the so-called “performance basin”, i.e. the space within which the exhibition was located.
