'Rosenzeitung' was a periodical edited by Verein Deutscher Rosenfreunde (the German Rose Association) between 1886 and 1933 (also from 1991 to 1993). Each periodical began with the colour chromolithographic plate of a rose portrait, which would have been created especially for that issue by the artist Lena Schmidt-Michel (originally as a watercolour).
