The small cup with straight walls and outward-turning rim as well as its saucer are divided into ten facets. The fields are separated by golden lines and feature a red and blue mille-fleur pattern each. The edges and handle are decorated with a golden band. The wall of the cobalt blue cup with gold-coloured decorations shows a lady in a light-blue dress behind a gentleman in a pink suit, both embedded in a landscape scene. The royal porcelain manufacture Sèvres near Versailles numbers amongst the most important of its kind since the middle of the 18th century.
