Chromed steel tube armchair made by Marcel Breuer in 1930, Hungarian-American furniture designer and architect. This is an example of the way the artists educated at Bauhaus worked. Breuer is a model professional of the combination of the work of an architect, an artisan and a workshop teacher. This meant the dignification of crafts to the level of Beaux Arts with the purpose aim of finishing with the separation between artist and artisan. This model is an example of the rejection of decoration in favour of functionality, one of the principles of the Bauhaus.
