Wartime toy production, during World War II, slowed from pre-war rates. Some manufacturers switched to cheaper and more readily available materials, such as printed paper or cardboard, for toys. The Lowe Company of Wisconsin produced a paper set of model tanks and Allied wartime vehicles. The box side reminds children or perhaps the adults who purchased this toy, of the wartime importance to "keep them rolling."
