This model of the Theatre Royal, Leeds, was made by Harold Brown in 1960.
The Theatre Royal had been built in 1876 on the site of the Royal Casino, Royal Alhambra and Royal Ampitheatres in King Charles Croft, Leeds. Francis Laidler came to the theatre in 1909 and was responsible for the successful pantomimes. The theatre was closed on March 30th 1957 and the building was demolished in May 1957 to make way for Schofields department store.
