The relocation of the statue of David from piazza della Signoria to the Accademia di Belle Arti took place in the summer 1873, using a wagon designed by the engineers Porra and Poggi. Casa Buonarroti has the original model of this vehicle. The equipment was made in the workshops of the Roman Railroads. The move took five days because due to the heat it was possible to work only from four to eleven in the morning.
