Model of Walla Walla in 1970s

Typical of what were once scores of ‘water taxis’ operated by members of the Hong Kong & Kowloon Motor Boat and Tugboat Association and hired for crossing the harbour or ferrying sailors from ships on buoys. Today their numbers are few. The name is of unknown origin but said to sound like the engine exhaust…or the boat’s motion
