Model steam locomotive, 1:12 scale, designed by Simon Goodrich, 1826.

This quirky model captures the excitement and optimism that characterised the early railways. It was redesigned again and again by engineer Simon Goodrich as he experimented with the latest locomotive developments. He exchanged letters with other engineers, like Richard Trevithick and Matthew Murray, sharing his findings and testing new ideas. Designed to turn in circles, its wheels are different sizes.
