Founded in 1998, Handspring Inc. manufactured personal digital assistants (PDAs). The company was original run by run by Jeff Hawkins, Donna Dubinsky, and Ed Colligan, the three inventors of the most well-known PDA brand, the Palm Pilot. Handspring's two PDA lines, the Visor and Treo, all ran on the Palm OS operating system.

Handspring became known as manufacturers of some of the most versatile PDAs, thanks to their SpringBoard Expansion Slot. This allowed for the attachment of many accessory modules, such as video games, extra memory, GPS devices, cameras, MP3 players, and mobile phones. Though this was a popular selling point for the brand, it was impractical for consumers to carry around an increasing amount of individual modules, which prevented many from taking advantage of the device's many accessories.

This artifact represents the 2001 Visor Neo, which contained 8MB of RAM and a 4-bit grayscale display.
