Modern Bamboo Boat Sculpture by Wang Ronglong

This five-story bamboo boat, consisting 10 staircases, 146 openable doors and more than 200 windows, took the artisan Wang Ronglong, a male arts and crafts master born in1959 in Hangzhou, four years to craft. It combines a magnificent overall look with meticulous embellishment, the amazing details of carved patterns on the balustrade, for instance, composed of lines as thin as 0.007cm. This piece of bamboo sculpture won the Gold Award at the first Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Masterpiece Exposition, the “Dongdiao Cup” Gold Award at the first Zhejiang Arts and Crafts Masterpiece Exposition, the “Masterpiece” Award at the third Zhejiang Arts and Crafts Masterpiece Exposition and the second award of the Arts and Crafts category at the second Zhejiang Folk Arts Exhibition.
