Based on an innovative design, the artisan Zheng Shengning, a male arts and crafts master of Zhejiang province born in 1943 in Yueqing, presented a scene of jubilation with this piece of boxwood sculpture by crafting five energetic horses, each in a different posture from another, chasing one another via the technique of openwork carving based on the natural form of the material without piecing together anything.
