This copper decorative screen, as a combination of multiple copper craftsmanship by the Chinese arts and crafts master Zhu Bingren born in 1944 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, is one of the copper furniture masterpieces of the artisan’s.
With a theme adopted from a line literally meaning “the vast distant heaven and the deep bottomless earth” in the ancient Chinese classic Book of Changes, this piece of artwork aims to reveal the magnificent look of the world after the first separation of the earth from the heaven as described in ancient Chinese mythologies by illustrating a scene of a flock of cranes, an auspicious symbol in the Chinese culture, flying up towards the sky.
