The bravery of one small child gave Kenya's renowned photojournalist Mohamed Amin, the courage and determination to continue. Billock brought in five-year-old Stephanie Bogdan, a girl who was born without an arm. Without any fuss she slipped on her artificial arm, and quietly went through a series of manoeuvres to demonstrate her dexterity. Her quiet composure in the face of such adversity moved the cameraman almost to tears.
“I knew then I could sort out my own problem. At least I had had the use of my natural arm for much of my life. You may have seen the documentary the BBC made of my search for a new arm.
Stephanie is shown going through her paces, and I think she stole the show.”
