Mohammad Al Awad holds a masters degree in history and archaeology from Lyon University, France, and was formerly an assistant professor at Damascus University, Syria. Unable to return to his country due to the ongoing conflict in Syria, Mohammad moved to the United Kingdom. He has contributed to the Oxford-Multaka project as a tour guide, producer, and curator of the photography exhibition “Syrian moonlight over Oxford skies”. When Muhammad saw the astronomical and mathematical instruments from the Islamic world at the History of Science Museum, he felt compelled to learn more.
