Brasilia, with almost 2.5 million inhabitants, is based on a design called the Plano Piloto, which was conceived and realized by urbanist Lucio Costa and architect Oscar Niemeyer.
The design resembles a plane formed by two axis, Eixo Monumental and Eixo Rodoviario, embraced by the Paranoá Lake.
