Unveiled on November 6, 1955, the Emek Shalom Holocaust Memorial Cemetery is one of the first Holocaust memorials in North America. Located in Forest Lawn on the former site of John Carter's Myrtle Grove plantation, the monument lists the names of more than 400 family members of Jewish Richmonders who perished in the Holocaust during World War II.
