UNESCO World Heritage

The Moorish Barracks, built in 1874, was designed by Macanese architect António Alexandrino de Melo, Baron of Cercal, and features an eclectic architectural style with noticeable Arabian influences. The structure was initially intended to house an Indian regiment from Goa sent to reinforce Macao's police force. Today, the site serves as the Maritime and Water Bureau's office building.
