A pair of framed paintings, they were exhibited at the 19th Inten Exhibition. Using only India ink, in one the dawning of the sky and the changes in the light and air has been depicted, while in the other, the moment-by-moment changes in the darkening mountains. “India ink is said to have five tones or gradations. More complex than other colors, it subtly yet directly portrays realism in a manner that transcends colors.” says Taikan. The two paintings back up his words.
